Sports, Movie Galore, Thifty Shopping

SPORTS
This week has been a big weekend for me in regards to sports simply because I only watch 3 sporting events on TV. Tennis, golf and soccer. This past week has been so awesome. Watching Venus and Serena make it to the round of 16. The #1 player in the world get spanked by Zheng, ranked in the 120s. Maria Sharapova getting her ass handed to her by a fellow Russian ranked below 100. Yup, a lot of upsets. No American men are in the round of 16 for the first time in decades. I hope the William sisters meet in the finals, but that's just wishful thinking. Today, I also watched the match between Spain and Germany. Given the past matches I thought Germany was going to win, but not even close. I'm surprised that Spain only won by 1 (1-0), I really thought that they were going to win 3-0 (at least). Spain had control of the ball almost the whole time, and they just kept attacking and attacking. Viva Espana!

MOVIE GALORE
During the summer time, I normally don't watch a lot of movies. I'm normally out and about running, yoga, surfing, beach bumming, but since my car has been acting up recently (I drove her the 1st time today in about 1.5 weeks) I've had a lot of time not only to play video games, but also to watch movies. I've seen probably 5 movies the past 10 days, which is really a lot for me. At the theaters, I saw Kung Fu Panda, Wanted and Wall-e. Guess what? They are all awesome movies! Kung Fu Panda had me laughing from beginning to end. I really haven't laughed that hard in ages! My favorite scene is with the chopsticks! Yesterday, I saw Wall-e and true to Pixar form, the movie was really an emotional roller coaster. I can't believe, I had an emotional connection to robots who couldn't form a sentence. On the other end, is Wanted, just a great kick-butt summer movie! I really enjoyed it. Great action, good acting, and yeah I guessed the twist at the ending, but hey, still well done. Hmmmmm... Its hard to just recommend 1 movie. If you had to see just 1, it would really just depend on what you were in the mood for. Just non-stop laugher, Kung Fu Panda, for comedy, action, and a message!, Wall-E. For action on speed, caffeine, crack, and whatever stimulus, Wanted is the movie for you. All A movies!

THRIFTY SHIPPING
I love eBay. Recently I received coupons, 1 for 10% off, and the other for $10 off shipping that I could use 3 times. Well, I've gotten a couple of great deals. First a video game, I basically saved $15, than if I bought it at the store, 2nd Microsoft Xbox points, I saved $10 and lastly, my big purchase today, I bought an Apple Gift certificate on eBay! The gift certificate was valued at $275.00, I bought it at $262.00, and I had a 10% coupon, so my total was $235.80. Not to mention, I earned $15.72 eBay bucks which is good towards a future purchase so my total cost = $220.87. I am going to use it to buy my new iPhone coming about 7.11 along with the insurance plan that covers the phone for 2 years! Super! Well, its bed time for me, and yeah gotta work out in the AM.

SLOW
Well, as you know work has been on the slower side, so basically, I am up-to-date on all news, tech news, sales on amazon, shopping on eBay, playing games on pogo, watching movies and TV shows on Netflix instant viewing, and a new hobby and completely free! I am actually going to buy Rosetta Stone, so I can learn a second language while I am at work (since it doesn't work on older, non-intel Mac)
I watched this full movie at work today for free!

Sorry, Drivers License, Desktop and GI BILL

SORRY
Photobucket

DL
I didn't realize my drivers license expired this year so I rushed to the City Hall on the 21st. Fortunately, its walking distance and they're open on Saturdays at 8AM. I love this Satellite City Hall (if that's possible), because no one really goes there, and actually I was 2nd in line. If you went to the Ala Moana branch, yeah you'll be waiting for sometime. Well, needless to say it was windy, and I didn't really look at myself in the mirror. Yeah. My drivers license is crazy looking. See for yourself. Yes, I am 140 pounds (cough). lol

DESKTOP
You know sometimes you're having a bad day at work. What do you do? Take a deep breath, click show desktop and yeah it helps that I have this picture on high resolution on my 17" monitor at work. Let me know if you want the full size image, its 3,219kb of complete yummy, delicious goodness.Photobucket

GI BILL
Wow! I am super excited about the changes in the GI BILL system. Now the current benefits is basically if you signed up for the MGIB, you will get roughly $1300 a month for the time you are in school assuming you signed up for the top-up program as well. Starting August 1, 2009, since I served 18-24 months after 9-11, I will have 70% of my tuition paid and not only that, $1000 for books yearly, and a monthly stipend totaling E-5 pay with dependents! OMG! That is like $2100++/month here in Hawaii! So yeah, granted my younger sister will probably graduate before me, but hey, at least I'll be able to go to school full time and not worry about $$$.

King Kamehameha Day

King Kamehameha Day
Yesterday was King Kamehameha Day and yes its a State Holiday. After yoga (see below), I went into work from 9:00-12:30, the phone must have rang twice, and only received 2 pertinent emails. I wish every Wednesday, could be a 1/2 day, it just really breaks up the work week and makes it go way smoother! I went to the beach yesterday and wanted to go surfing, but it was sort of flat, plus with the holiday, and summer (not to mention windy), there were so many people out there fighting for junk waves. Basically, I was just cruising at the beach until 5pm, then grab a snack at Ono Cheese Steakhouse, then went sailing (for free, it helps to know the right people). Pretty cool stuff. We were out in the water from 6pm-7:30pm, and the sun was barely setting when we came in. Then off to Shabu Shabu for dinner! Great place to eat! Its Japanese/Korean and you basically boil your food. Its normally a winter thing, but here in Hawaii its ono all year round (like we really have winter). As if that wasn't enough food, we went to my favorite dessert place, Satura Cake, and I had a Kona-Misu cake and a large earl grey tea. Yes, I was falling asleep on the way home, but hey, today, I woke up well rested, and off to make some breakfast and to work at 9AM!

Bikram at 6AM

Alright, how about bikram this morning was awesome. It was nice and warm, the instructor was attentive and yeah he's a hottie. He's my yoga huZBUND. He looks like Bradley Cooper, but with longer, curly hair. He's about 6'0" and about 160 lbs. He's probably straight, but I can dream, right?
