When You're Feeling Down

WHEN YOU'RE FEELING DOWN...

When you're feeling down, its easy to keep moving in a downward spiral. When you realize you don't have a lot of money, credit cards are piling up. You tell yourself, it'll be alright. When you're stocks lose a lot of its value and you wish you could eat out with your friends. You tell yourself, it'll be alright. When your car won't start and the check engine light goes on, you think to yourself, it'll be alright. I can ride my bike and try to put a grin on your face that I need the exercise. When you ride your bike and you have a flat tire, you tell yourself, I have an extra tube, I can change the tire. Two day later you ride your bike to school, it'll be a alright you say. A mile later you get a flat tire. You don't have an extra tube. On your way home, you fight the tears. Strangers wizz by in their cars and strangers walk by you. You look down as you walk, thinking if a cigarette is in order to help ease the pain. You realize, it won't. As you're crossing the street to head to your house, you hear a horn, a stranger in a pickup truck asks you if you want to throw your bike in the back and hitch a ride. You smile back and point, I live right there. You realize that it will be alright, it will be tough but people will always be there to help.
