TravelTalk - Maui (A quick weekend trip)

This past weekend, I went to Maui (literally for the weekend) to hang out in one of my favorite places in Hawaii - Hana, Hawaii.

 

While most of the island is starting to become really crowded, this area of Maui is still not so crowded - haha, and its a great, relaxing place to be.

 

 The Road to Hana is one of the most beautiful drives out there, it is 56 miles from the Kahului airport (there is a race called the Hana Relay - which I use to run).  The road is full of winding curves, awesome scenery, crisp Hawaiian air, and unfortunately not even my HD videos nor pictures can capture the feeling I experience while taking this path.

 

I hope you enjoy, I certainly love this area of Maui.

TravelTalk - Aerial photos - Kailua-Kona to Kahului, Maui (KOA to OGG)

Aloha everyone!

 

I wanted to write this quick blog and share some aerial photos with you guys.

 

Between the islands, I've had the chance to fly go!, Mokulele and Hawaiian Airlines.

If you're scared of small planes - Hawaiian airlines if your only (probably most expensive) option interisland - they planes hold 119 passengers (115 in coach and 4 in 1st class).

 

Anywho, this plane hold only 9 people, but this route KOA to OGG isn't very common, perhaps Mokulele has bigger aircrafts on their other flights!

maui wowie

it is somewhat fitting that i am writing about this particular picture... i wrote on an earlier blog about destiny and one of my best friends lovella.

this particular picture was taken in maui of course... alright, from left to right francisco, chris, lovella and me.  lovella and francisco came to visit for a week in honolulu, we decided to go to maui for a weekend and visit my friend chris.

the week was crazy.  before heading to maui, there was an incidence with other friends from maui visiting honolulu and lots of tequila shots, patron to be exact.  needless to say i had 14 shots.  i puked outside the car while moving, outside of the car, in the trash outside the elevator, in the toilet, in the tub, and passed out in the bathroom floor, to wake up the next day wreaking of alcohol, to go to top of diamond head, then hanauma bay and nearly drown... lol then to catch our flight to maui. straight to iao valley, then upcountry where chris lived.

i miss maui a lot, i love sitting in the back of a pickup truck going through the windy roads to hana, as opposed to running it... lol like the hana relay...

that was such a short holiday, but sometimes the short holidays also can have a lot of memories as you try to cram every single event in such a short time.

i miss maui.  i miss chris.  i miss lovella.  i do miss francisco, but not his smelly feet (omg, they’re toxic).

Decisions. Decisions. Decisions

DECISIONS
You know, its times like these where I think about how blessed I am. There has definitely been a lot of rough patches in my life, but now, life is pretty great.

What is this post about? Decisions.

Normally, there are a lot of decisions to be made in my life. Some minor, some... life altering, but I am now at the point in my life where my hardest decision is... "Where am I going on vacation?" I know it sounds stupid, but hey its my blog... so hear me out...

I currently have a round trip ticket to Portugal, which I really would like to go, but the Euro is really kicking our a$$ at the moment. I do plan to spend most of my time in Morocco if I decide to go.

My other options are...

I am also thinking of going to the Philippines for a week, which would be really inexpensive except for the plane ticket. You know visit the outer islands, get pampered for super cheap!

Go to Maui for a week. It has been almost a year since I've been and it would be great to just relax, take the super ferry over and just cruise, surf, and hang out with friends.

Or finally a week in Australia, yes I've been there 8-9 times, but hey, its a great place to be with good friends, decent exchange rates, and cute guys...

Decisions. Decisions. Decisions.
