TravelTalk - St. Petersburg Pride 2013 - Final Blog

My few days here in St. Petersburg, Florida really passed by really fast.  I had a great time spending time with two of my closest friends.  Even though I had not seen them in over a year, things just went off without a hitch, talked story, ate, cooked (we love to cook), ate, ate and ate again.  Of course, a little bit of discovering of course and also a bit of video blogging.

Earlier today, I participated in the St. Petersburg pride parade.  This parade is the 2^nd biggest in Florida, after Miami.  I had so much fun being a part of the parade!  Here are two more videos for you to enjoy!

I hope you guys have enjoyed the videos and any feedback would be much appreciated, so I can tailor future videos.

My next destination is Las Vegas.  I think I’ve been to Las Vegas about a dozen times (probably more).  It is the number one destination for people living in Hawaii.  If you anything you want to know about Las Vegas post in the comment section and I’ll try my best to answer them.

TravelTalk - TechTalk - Microsoft Surface RT - First Look!

I've been using the Microsoft Surface RT tablet for the past week and I am extremely happy with the device.

As a traveler and a student, I need something compact, with Office and also the capacity to upload documents online and this fits the bill!

Today has been quite an exciting day, particularly because I got to try a new pastry for the first time.

It is called the CRONUT.

The Cronut is basically a hybrid of the croissant and the donut.

TravelTalk - St. Petersburg (Part 2)

Aloha everyone.

Wow... It is nice and sunny and hot here in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Yesterday was super fun, I guess anytime you're with good friends any time is fun no matter what you are doing.

Well, yesterday we had some dim sum. Yummy. I so love dim sum.

Then, we had a meeting to go to because we are volunteers at St. Pete pride parade this Saturday.

Then off to a massage... because eating and going to meetings is very stressful.

Other than that just chillaxing at home, taking photos with guns. Hahaha.

TravelTalk - Hanging out in St. Pete

Hey everyone....

A full 24 hours after here in St. Pete and I can tell you that I am tired.   Not from partying or even exploring, time difference got me real good.

I was suppose to post a video, but with my new camcorder, 4GB SD CARD isn't enough for HD recording.  I was making eggs Benedict for you guys. :-)

Besides cooking and sorting through mail and packages (I'm an online shopaholic), chatting, talking, drinking with 2 of my besties has been great. Not to mention seeing the puppies again!!

Another great year...

Yes, today is the day.

Today is my good friend's birthdy, Ms. Sarai Silva.  Fortunately, we share the same birthday.  Funny thing is, I didn't realize that most or the people in my life are geminis... And the rare few that can put up with us... Hahaha

32 has been awesome year.  It's my first time living in a foreign country as an adult. 

Well, the draft of my blog was deleted... So writing a 2nd time, though its always harder to remember to capture the words that I previously wrote.

Today, was a great day, just relaxing and pastry hopping.  No bars for me on my birthday, this is a time for reflection and grateful for another year on this planet.

Some people make new years resolutions... For me its birthday resolutions, this year, I want to learn how to skateboard, maybe try cliff diving, and unicycling and of course relaxing.  The weird thing is I can complete release all control when I am traveling, no plans nor itinerary, doesn't matter if the train is late or is I miss the bus, I'm trying to learn to incorporate this into my normal life.

I also want to highlight my favorite nonprofit organizations.

Kiva, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Life Foundation.

Thank you everyone for all of the birthday wishes from all over the world.  You I've made this day very special and made me feel more special than I sometimes feel.  Thanks for your kind words.

TravelTalk - Porto

My first full day of sun with my feeling well...

Today was a pretty awesome day. I walked, I talked, I ate, I ate, I ate (you get the idea) mostly pastries, I don't normally eat lunch when traveling to save money and if I do, its a cheap meal. Fortunately, food here in Porto is great. :-)

I love pastries and Porto is where its at. Not to mention the cheap café con leite (.70€).

Everyone has different ideas about traveling and mine is quite a bit different.  I haven't gone to too many touristic sites (I figure ill be back with friends - so I can do all that then). Haha.

Today was don't bring the map, walk and discover day, which Porto is quite small, so getting lost is nearly impossible and all almost everyone speaks Spanish and/or English. 

Well, I wanted to share some pics with you... Pics were taken with my HTC One X+ and I don't think ill be carrying around my regular camera, the photos look pretty good, don't they?!

Hello Hello!

Hey guys...

Long time no see.... I'm currently in Porto,Portugal and the weather today is perfect.

So... I decided to finally start posting some pics on a more regular basis, since I've downloaded the blogger app on my phone - I hope the formatting is ok...

Yup, no more Twitter, no more instagram, photos (and videos) only via Google+ and my blogs).

Ha ha, JK about the photo... I'm posting some tonight...

Escuela Oficial de Idiomas - Spanish Placement Exam Results

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!

Me?! Intermediate 2 - #woot!

Ha ha, I am crazy happy with this level considering there were two parts to the exam where I was just like... (#seriously?!)  There was one listening part where he spoke faster than me so I just put "false" on all 5 of the responses.  The speaking was sort of easy, but I could have used more vocabulary to be able to describe what I saw.

Well, now I just have to find out how to register for class, put my deposit down on my apartment, find a place to #quedar en Porto, oh yeah - I still need to change my address at the bank - there was a demonstration yesterday (haha, manifestation).

SpainTalk - A hui hou Ferrol

Aloha everyone!

It has been quite some time since I wrote a blog.  I haven't had internet access.

There has been so much going in the past couple of days.

I am officially moved out of the apartment and everything is spic and span.  Today, I also had to spend quite a bit of time studying since I was a bit behind with everything going on.

Wow, I can't believe it has been 8 months.  I know not everyone reads my blog... but since I am the worst person at saying goodbye (seriously), I'll say my farewells on my blog.

Weird thing is I rarely say goodbye.  Probably because I because I don't believe in good byes, so I guess I should introduce a new phrase, "A hui hou" which means - until we meet again.  Which is the case since I am going to leave in the next city over, even if I wasn't staying in Galicia, I would come back, I've been fortunate to have made a few friends along the way and I know good friends aren't easy to come by.
