cafe latte and cappuccino

Day 1
yes, morning coffee in roma.

the best way to start the day.

i’m the cafe latte and marc is the cappuccino.  yes, i know, i’m not suppose to drink milk, but :P
based on the coffees, i can reconstruct my trip of roma.

the first one was right before the vatican on our first day there.  you know, (yes, i know i need to post pics of roma - im working on it :P)

Day 2

i use to love starbucks and my soy vanilla latte, but after drinking coffee from roma, it sort of makes you realize what real products are without the corporate monicker (there is no starbucks in italy - GASP!)
Day 3

you get your coffee in less than 2 minutes, you are served straight away by the friendly barista.

i guess i could use some coffee.  so sorry for the short post this week.  i’m still recovering from illness.

what’s your favorite coffee?  :D

La cuisine Français

ha! another food blog, oui!  this one is quite special.

this is my 2nd time to france, and this is my first homemade meal in france. it was so yummy, everything was bought fresh today and its all organic.

and yes the wine is fantabolous too! its from côtes du rhône.

today was pretty much recovery. i slept a lot, woke up, took the dog for a walk (another first in a foreign country), and picked up dog poop (another 1st) - i’m racking up many firsts today!

oh, i visited the boulangerie this morning and had croissants, oh so yummy!

ok, tomorrow, i will be more adventurous and check out the open market!

bonne nuit, mon amis!

look into my eyes

this is one of those moments where you think to yourself, lucky you live hawaii.

well, i do and yes, i’m lucky. lol this particular day was a perfect day for me and two my favorite gal pals to head to the a beach.  not just any beach, our own little private beach.

yup, after a long drive, a mini hike, we were greeted with pristine, calm waters.  along with the warm sun and great company this turned to be such an awesome day.

this particular beach outing, we took underwater videos, practiced out yoga, got lots of sun, and yes even a turtle sighting.

for this particular picture, i chose to edit the colors so the focus is on what i am seeing, the soft sand, the clear waters and the blue sky.

when was the last time you went to a beautiful beach?

pooter

yes pooter and pooting around the world is culturally different...

i’ve encountered this in areas around the world.

this particular picture happens to be a toilet, for not just a #1... but yes a #2.

what’s so different about this one?  well, its on a high train.  yes, so if you’re doing the dirty dirty, not only do you have to pop.a.squat, but you must be aware at all time that the train could come to a grinding halt, which could lunge you forward and send you rocking backwards.

fortunately, i didn’t have to drop off the kids, but needless to say, i sorta wish i did. o_O

pictures...

yes, pictures are worth 1,000 words and with online social networking i don’t think too many people still print photos.

well i am one of those exceptions.  similar to not having a facebook account!

alright, technically this does have a photo, but it is about photos, so I decided to write about prices of pictures today.  most smaller photos 4 by 6 shouldn’t cost you more than $0.06 a print and most sites out there give you free prints.  snapfish, kodak, etc. but when it comes to larger prints you start to see a large disparity in prices.

let’s take 8” by 10” photos...

here’s my research so far.... (not inclusive of taxes or shipping)
costco             $1.49
snapfish           $2.99
walgreens        $2.99
kodak              $2.89
shutterfly         $3.99
walmart            $2.84
i guess i will be printing my pictures through costco.

the prices get even more dramatic once you go for larger and poster size prints.

picture coming soon.  promise.
